The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Elimination of Consequences of Chornobyl Disaste recommends that the Parliament adopts as a Basis the Bill "On the National Program of Removal of Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant from Service and Conversion of "Ukryttia" Object into an Environmentally Safe System"

The Committee members stated that the Bill (Reg. No.2635) was aimed at facilitation of the process related to removal of Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant from service and conversion of "Ukryttia" object into an environmentally safe system due to adoption of the National Target Program.

The Bill includes regulations appertaining to the treatment of waste of Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant that has been accumulated for the period of service and will accumulate in the course of performance of works related to removal of power-generating units from service. The Bill includes regulations pertaining to social protection of employees of Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant due to the early removal of Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant from service.
